Strange things happen at night

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is a horror game that follows the success of its predecessor, Five Night’s at Freddy’s. Once again working the night shift, players are in it for a wild game of survival against the terrifying mascots lurking in the hallways. The game also offers an interesting backstory that explains the haunting of the whole place. With its murderous animatronics and a gameplay that is now infused with a mysterious tale, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is a wonderfully scary game to play.

Can you last 7 nights?

As if the five terrifying nights of staying and keeping guard in the first Five Nights of Freddy’s game are not enough, this 2nd installment stretches your shift from 5 nights to 7. There is not much that has changed when it comes to the mechanics of the game, and old fans are more than familiar with the jump scares and the point-and-click gameplay. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 follows the same mechanics. With CCTV cameras serving as your eyes in the poorly lit Freddy Fazbear’s Funtime Palace diner, you are on the lookout for mascots on the loose. Your main objective is to prevent them from ever reaching your location.

To prevent the haunted mascots from reaching your location, you have to use the light from your flashlight at the expense of your battery and power diminishing. Also, if the first game allows you to delay the mascots’ movements by closing doors, here in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, there are absolutely no doors to close, and you will have to rely on your strategies to conserve energy and power. The gameplay is also fast-paced compared to its prequel, not to mention that it comes with an additional task of keeping a music box playing in one room to keep another troubling mascot at bay. With new and crazier animatronics joining in the nightly fright party, players will inevitably face the pressure of having to juggle so many tasks just to survive one night.

Ready your hearts

The game is fast-paced, and you will eventually find yourself face to face with Freddy and his gang of other scary mascots. The new animatronics are designed to be just as disturbing and creepy as the original mascots are with their mutilated bodies. While the game has removed doors that would have allowed you to hide and delay being caught by the animatronics, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 gives you your very own Freddy mascot that you can use as a disguise. Wearing the Freddy costume will keep you safe from being attacked by the other mascots. However, you will not be able to do anything. Not even walk or open your flashlight to scare them away. It inevitably becomes a staring contest until the mascot leaves you alone, and while at first, it seems like a crazy good tactic, remember that you still have other matters to attend to, such as the music box!

What happens at night, stays at night

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 might make you say no to nightshifts ever again. But without a doubt, this game is very entertaining and addicting. After a bunch of trial and errors, you will eventually get used to the patterns and jump scares that the game has prepared for you. It will be challenging to get over the seven fearful nights at Freddy’s diner, but rest assured that the experience is unforgettable.
